Culture & History

This category contains information on organizations and projects associated with the Androscoggin River that pertain to culture, history and art. The museums, historical societies and other cultural resources are mostly non-profit and tend to focus on the relationship between the people and the river. They celebrate the history and culture of life in the mills and the communities that sprang up along the river.  The community and historical projects represent work by college students and faculty, with emphasis on various historical and cultural aspects of the river and its watershed.
