The Natural Resources Council of Maine is
a non-profit organization that works to restore, protect and conserve
Maine’s natural environment. They have over 12,000 supporters
nationwide, who work together and use science and policy to protect
Maine’s natural resources. One of their focuses includes improving the
water quality of Maine’s rivers and reducing the amount of toxic
chemicals released into the rivers. A simple site search reveals
general information and news on the Androscoggin River. http://www.nrcm.org/ Maine Environmental Policy Institute (MEPI) is an independent non-profit organization that seeks to help the people of Maine “understand the importance of healthy ecosystems to their families and communities.” They do this by researching environmental challenges in the state and reporting their research to the public and policy makers.
